Each year district managers and principals have the
opportunity to select classified and
certificated employees and volunteers who
exemplify outstanding performance.
District managers were asked to nominate a
classified employee in the following categories
- office and technical, child nutrition,
para-educator/instructional assistance,
maintenance, operations and facilities, support
services and security based on the following
criteria:
- Exemplary Work Performance
- School/Community Involvement
- Leadership and Commitment
- Going Above and Beyond
Principals were asked to nominate a teacher based
on the following criteria:
- Communicates subject matter in an interesting,
relevant, and effective manner.
- Incorporates creative methods in classroom
instruction.
- Updates their own education regularly through
classes, training and staff development programs.
- Participates in professional activities.
- Exhibits knowledge of major educational issues
and trends.
- Demonstrates commitment to the community by
being aware of problems and participating in
activities to resolve them.
- Displays consistent evidence of student
achievement (Standard 5).
- Contributes to committees and leadership at
district level.
- Exemplifies the attributes of a “Professional
Teacher” (Standard 6).
